Area Swim School Manager

About the role

GLL is seeking an Area Swim School Manager to lead and develop swim school programmes across Greenwich and surrounding centres. You will act as the central link between customers, centre swim school leads, swimming teachers and the leisure centre team, ensuring high‑quality lessons and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, grow and review diverse swim school programmes, focusing on pupil progression and attainment.
• Drive income and retention by delivering first‑class customer service and handling queries or complaints.
• Oversee lesson delivery, quality and safety, supporting centre teams and teachers.
• Recruit, mentor and develop swimming teachers, including Lead Teachers and Centre Swim School Leads.
• Utilise marketing resources to promote swim school products and engage customers.
• Participate in community agendas and support mobilisation/demobilisation as required.

Required profile

• Fully qualified swimming teacher with a Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming (STA or equivalent).
• Strong focus on customer service and a passion for swimming education.
• Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Team‑player attitude and ability to lead and inspire staff.
• Experience with Course Pro is beneficial but not essential.
