Art and Design Teacher – KS3 to KS5 (Temp to Perm)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Newham, East London. The school seeks an enthusiastic Art and Design Teacher to deliver curriculum for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, starting September 2026. The role is full‑time on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Art lessons for KS3‑KS5 students.
• Create engaging, inclusive learning environments that develop students' artistic skills and creativity.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe, supportive atmosphere.
• Contribute to the Art department’s development, sharing resources and best practices.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and parent evenings.

Required profile

• Committed, positive and versatile teaching approach.
• Willingness to work in an outstanding school setting.
• Open to early‑career teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced practitioners.

Required skills

• Ability to teach Art across KS3‑KS5 curricula.
• Lesson planning, assessment and classroom management skills.
