Art Teaching Assistant – East London Secondary School

About the role

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Art Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in East London. You will support the Art Department by helping teachers deliver engaging practical lessons and by fostering a positive learning environment for students.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers during art lessons, setting up equipment and materials.
• Prepare and organise resources, ensuring all supplies are ready for each class.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the art classroom.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students, encouraging creativity and skill development.
• Help monitor student progress and keep records of work completed.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for art and education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff.
• Experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
