Art Technician

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Art Technician to join a vibrant secondary school in South East London. The role supports the Art Department by preparing materials, maintaining the studio and assisting both teachers and students in delivering creative lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers during art lessons, providing technical support and guidance to students.
• Prepare and set up art materials and equipment for each class.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised art studio, checking and repairing equipment as needed.
• Manage inventory of supplies, order new materials and keep accurate records.
• Support students in the safe use of equipment and techniques.
• Help create displays of student artwork and organise school exhibitions.
• Carry out administrative duties such as record‑keeping, photocopying and filing.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Art, Art & Design or a related field.
• Experience in an educational setting or as an art technician is desirable.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Creative, enthusiastic and passionate about inspiring young artists.
