Art Technician – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

The school in Newham is seeking a motivated Art Technician to join its vibrant Art Department from September. Working alongside experienced teachers, you will help deliver practical art lessons and ensure the department runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, organise and set up materials, equipment and resources for practical art sessions.
• Support teachers during lessons, assisting students as required.
• Maintain, clean and service specialist art tools, equipment and workspaces.
• Monitor stock levels, order supplies and manage inventory.
• Display student artwork throughout the school and assist with exhibitions and events.
• Uphold health and safety standards within the department.

Required profile

• Qualification or background in Art, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Photography or a related creative field.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Experience handling a variety of artistic materials and equipment.
• Proactive, flexible and enthusiastic about supporting staff and pupils.
• Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
