Asbestos Surveyor (Engineering & Surveying)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join the Asset Management team of a leading property owner. The role is field‑based, covering domestic and commercial properties across London and the South‑East, and involves delivering asbestos management surveys that support safe maintenance, refurbishment and investment programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct asbestos Management Surveys in line with HSG264 using the TEAMS electronic system.
• Identify, assess and record asbestos‑containing and non‑asbestos materials in residential and commercial sites.
• Plan and manage own diary to meet monthly survey targets and operational priorities.
• Carry out Refurbishment & Demolition and re‑inspection surveys as required.
• Provide technical advice on asbestos matters to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Support quality assurance by reviewing survey reports and maintaining high data standards.
• Collaborate with Planned Maintenance teams to ensure survey data is available before works commence.
• Maintain accurate digital records in compliance with GDPR and company procedures.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated professional with proven experience in asbestos surveying.
• Strong technical knowledge of asbestos legislation and HSG264 guidance.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HSG264 standard.
• Experience using TEAMS (The Electronic Asbestos Management System).
• Competence in conducting asbestos management, refurbishment & demolition, and re‑inspection surveys.
