Asbestos Surveyor – Reading

About the role

A well‑established environmental consultancy is seeking a qualified Asbestos Surveyor to support projects across Reading and the wider Berkshire region. The role offers a strong pipeline of commercial and mixed‑use site work within a structured diary and supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Management, Refurbishment and Demolition asbestos surveys in line with HSG264 guidance.
• Survey a variety of commercial, industrial and domestic properties.
• Identify and assess asbestos‑containing materials.
• Produce accurate, compliant asbestos survey reports.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Ensure all work complies with current legislation and HSE guidance.

Required profile

• BOHS P402 qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience as an Asbestos Surveyor within a UKAS‑accredited consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of asbestos legislation and guidance.
• Good report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage workload independently.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Asbestos surveying techniques.

• Understanding of asbestos legislation.
• Production of asbestos survey reports.
• BOHS P402 certification.
