ASD Teaching Assistant – Reading (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

The school in Reading is looking for a dedicated Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Teaching Assistant to join the team as soon as possible. This full‑time, temporary position offers the chance to support pupils with autism in a welcoming, inclusive environment and to work closely with teachers and the SENCO.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted classroom and one‑to‑one support to pupils with ASD.
• Implement tailored learning and behaviour support strategies to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to plan and deliver interventions.
• Encourage independence, confidence and emotional regulation in students.

Required profile

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to inclusion and positive outcomes for pupils.
• Interest in supporting children with autism.

Required skills

• Experience working with children with SEND (desirable).
• Knowledge of autism support strategies and behaviour management techniques.
