Aspiring English Teacher Programme – Paid UQT Position

About the role

This permanent, term‑time only position is part of an Aspiring English Teacher Programme delivered through a Schools Direct route. You will be employed directly by a secondary school in the South East and will teach across the English department, primarily supporting KS3‑4 lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver English lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, focusing on raising attainment.
• Provide targeted interventions for GCSE and A‑Level students.
• Participate in one dedicated training day per week and gradually increase teaching load from ~15 to ~20 periods.
• Collaborate with senior staff to ensure consistent teaching approaches within the school.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in English, English Literature, English Language, Linguistics, TESOL, Education, or related fields.
• Motivation to become a qualified teacher and willingness to enrol in the UQT scheme.
• Ability to work full‑time during term dates and commit to the school for the duration of the programme.
