Aspiring Speech & Language Therapist – Learning Support Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to join our school in Addlestone as a Learning Support Assistant. This full‑time position offers the chance to work closely with children aged 11‑19 who have moderate learning difficulties and challenging behaviours, while gaining hands‑on experience alongside specialist therapy teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing resources and materials for teaching and therapy sessions.
• Plan and deliver learning activities tailored to individual pupil abilities, under teacher guidance.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students, encouraging social skill development.
• Offer behaviour and pastoral support, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, CPD activities, and uphold safeguarding procedures.

Required profile

• Passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
• Calm, resilient and able to manage stressful or conflict situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Willingness to commute to Addlestone and work on‑site.
