Assembly and Test Technician

About the role

As an Assembly and Test Technician you will work closely with design engineers to build, test and troubleshoot prototypes and small‑batch production of electromechanical equipment. The role combines hands‑on assembly, PCB testing and fault finding, with the opportunity to provide both on‑site and remote technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and modify mechanical assemblies and fluid‑power systems.
• Build PCBs from scratch using SMT and through‑hole techniques, respecting ESD protocols.
• Create wiring looms with Molex and Harwin connectors.
• Perform component‑level testing and fault finding on circuit boards using multimeters and power supplies.
• Support R&D and prototype manufacturing, providing technical assistance to customers on‑site and remotely.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and documentation, recommending improvements where needed.

Required profile

• Strong practical hand skills for mechanical assembly and modification.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems that incorporate fluid‑power.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics confidently.
• Proactive attitude with willingness to learn across disciplines.
• Good communication skills and readiness to travel for on‑site support.

Required skills

• Working to IPC standards (610, 620, J‑STD).
• SMT and through‑hole PCB assembly with ESD awareness.
• Wiring loom creation using Molex and Harwin connectors.
• Use of multimeters and power supplies for electrical fault diagnosis.
• Mechanical troubleshooting, including fluid‑power systems.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings and schematics.
