Assembly Fitter – Fixed‑Term (24 months) – £17‑£26 per hour

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Assembly Fitter to join our energetic production team at the North West Industrial Estate in Peterlee. You will work across day, afternoon and night shifts, ensuring that every product is built to the highest quality standards while meeting tight production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble components and finished products following detailed work instructions.
• Operate air and battery powered tools, including torque wrenches, to complete assembly tasks.
• Carry out quality inspections and report any defects to the line leader.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
• Achieve daily production output and adhere to shift schedules.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical work instructions.
• Strong hand‑eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, shift‑based setting.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
