Assembly & Stores Person

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Assembly & Stores Person to join our busy engineering operation in Sittingbourne. The role blends light assembly work with stores and materials handling, ensuring production runs smoothly and the workshop remains well‑stocked.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble small components and sub‑assemblies following written instructions.
• Pick, pack and issue materials to production and workshop teams.
• Receive, check and record incoming deliveries accurately.
• Maintain up‑to‑date stock records using internal stock control systems.
• Keep the stores and assembly areas clean, safe and organised.
• Assist with regular stock checks and cycle counts.
• Support colleagues with general workshop and logistics tasks as required.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in assembly, production, warehousing or stores is desirable but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and eager to learn.
• Forklift licence is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic IT skills for using stock control systems.
• Forklift operation (desirable).
