Assembly Technician

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established manufacturing business for an experienced Assembly Technician. You will join a close‑knit production team, working on precision mechanical components in a stable, permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble small, medium and large mechanical components from engineering drawings and build instructions.
• Test part‑assembled and finished products against defined specifications.
• Inspect parts and identify defects throughout the manufacturing process.
• Set up and operate manufacturing equipment according to instructions.
• Diagnose faults and carry out basic part repairs when required.
• Maintain consistent build quality and support production timelines.

Required profile

• Relevant mechanical assembly experience at a skilled level.
• Confidence reading and working from technical drawings without supervision.
• Strong fault‑finding ability and capacity to repair basic components.
• Understanding of works orders and the picking process in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent manual dexterity, consistency and attention to detail.
• Ability to test sub‑assemblies and finished products to specific procedures.
• Recognised apprenticeship, relevant BTEC or equivalent (basic electrical experience desirable but not essential).
