Asset Manager – Development & Refurbishment

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Asset Manager to join a fast‑growing specialist property lender. The role focuses on development and refurbishment assets across the UK, overseeing the full loan lifecycle from pre‑funding assessment to exit.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor live development and refurbishment schemes, reviewing drawdown requests, cost‑to‑complete, variations and surveyor reports.
• Conduct pre‑funding technical assessments of scope, cost plans, programmes, specifications, warranties and insurance.
• Manage planning and regulatory compliance, including permissions, Section 106 obligations and CIL requirements.
• Take ownership of distressed or under‑performing loans, devising recovery strategies and supporting enforcement or disposal actions.
• Maintain regular communication with borrowers and project teams, producing portfolio reports for senior management and credit committees.

Required profile

• Proven experience in asset management of development and refurbishment projects.
• Strong technical and commercial understanding of property finance.
• Ability to identify and mitigate project risks and to manage borrower relationships.
• Experience working with planners, architects, contractors and local authorities.
