Assistant Accountant – Fast‑track to Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in Cambridge. This role provides broad exposure to management accounts, financial reporting and commercial finance, and is designed as a fast‑track to a Finance Manager position.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts and deliver month‑end reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities
• Conduct financial analysis and produce management information
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls
• Report cash flow and assist with cash‑flow forecasting
• Enhance finance systems and drive process‑improvement projects
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across the business

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or later stages of AAT with intent to progress
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
• Proactive ownership and a drive for continuous improvement
• Commercially minded with a desire to broaden finance expertise
• Ambition to progress into finance leadership within 2–3 years
