Assistant Accountant – Finance Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Finance Assistant to join our well‑established team in Purley. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will gain hands‑on experience across a range of accounting and administrative tasks in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with general finance administration, including filing and record keeping.
• Support reconciliations and financial reporting processes.
• Accurately record financial transactions using internal systems and Sage.
• Provide support for both sales ledger and purchase ledger activities.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Handle incoming calls and respond to queries professionally.
• Carry out ad‑hoc administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems quickly.
• Competent use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Previous experience with Sage is advantageous but not essential.
