Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an organised and detail‑oriented finance professional to join our fast‑paced finance team in South West London. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will support day‑to‑day finance operations and help ensure our financial records are accurate and up‑to‑date.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales and purchase invoices and match them to purchase orders.
• Post bank receipts, payments and other banking transactions.
• Reconcile supplier statements and bank accounts.
• Prepare supplier payment runs and remittance advice.
• Set up new customers and suppliers, including credit checks.
• Support credit control activities such as customer statements and payment reminders.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems.
• Assist with month‑end reconciliations and cash‑flow reporting.
• Produce ad‑hoc finance reports and analysis.
• Handle finance‑related enquiries from customers, suppliers and colleagues.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounts or finance role.
• Hands‑on experience with sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, journals and multi‑currency transactions.
• AAT qualification or current study towards AAT (preferred).
• Experience using Sage 200 (advantageous).
• Knowledge of Real Asset Management (RAM) software (advantageous).
