Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team at a prestigious British luxury retailer in Liverpool city centre. This full‑time, office‑based position offers a supportive environment where you will develop your accounting skills and progress your career.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end close activities and prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts.
• Process journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Assist with year‑end and audit activities.
• Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Required profile

• Studying towards or planning to start AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification.
• Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Enjoys collaborative work within a close‑knit team.
