Assistant Accountant – Part Qualified (Milton Keynes)

About the role

We are looking for a part‑qualified Assistant Accountant to join a forward‑looking practice in Milton Keynes. You will manage your own client portfolio, provide practical business advice and develop strong relationships while working with modern accounting technology.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of annual accounts from planning through to final submission.
• Meet clients to review accounts, offer advice and identify additional support.
• Assist clients with pre‑year‑end tax planning and ad‑hoc projects.
• Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance and feedback.
• Utilise modern accounting software to deliver efficient, high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Experience preparing statutory accounts in a practice environment.
• Part‑qualified and actively studying ACA, ACCA or AAT Level 4.
• Strong IT skills, including Excel and familiarity with accounting packages.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
