Assistant Accountant – Semi Senior – Flexible Working

About the role

We are partnering with an established accounting practice in Farnham, Surrey, to recruit an Assistant Accountant / Semi‑Senior Accountant. The role offers a smart office environment, flexible working hours and the chance to develop technical accounting skills alongside qualified professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping for a portfolio of SME clients, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT Returns.
• Compile monthly management accounts.
• Produce annual statutory accounts for sole traders, LLPs and limited companies.
• Liaise with clients to answer queries and provide support.
• Work closely with HMRC on compliance matters.
• Assist in the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.

Required profile

• Experience working in an accountancy firm.
• Motivation to develop technical accounting expertise.
• Currently studying AAT, ACA or ACCA (non‑students also considered).
