Assistant Accountant – Stock (Full‑Time, Liverpool)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading British luxury retailer to hire an Assistant Accountant – Stock for their head office in Liverpool city centre. This full‑time, office‑based position offers a solid foundation in finance, supporting month‑end processes and gaining exposure to budgeting, forecasting and audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end close activities and prepare journal entries.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and assist with management accounts.
• Process accruals, pre‑payments and other routine journal entries.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Contribute to year‑end close and external audit preparation.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA (or planning to start).
• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant or similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
