Assistant Centre Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Centre Manager to support the day‑to‑day operations of a busy tyre retail centre in Gloucester. Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will help drive sales, maintain stock levels and ensure a high standard of customer service in a fast‑growing automotive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Centre Manager with overall depot management and performance monitoring.
• Lead, motivate and, when required, provide hands‑on mechanical support to workshop staff.
• Maintain key performance indicators and help achieve centre targets.
• Oversee stock management to ensure optimal inventory accuracy.
• Deliver excellent customer service while adhering to company policies.
• Support cost control initiatives and maximise sales performance.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in the automotive or retail sector.
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points.
• Strong leadership ability and a positive team‑building approach.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a track record of meeting service standards.
• Experience in sales maximisation, cost control and compliance.

Required skills

• Technical vehicle knowledge.
• Mechanical aptitude.

• Salary between £34,000 and £38,600 per annum, plus performance‑related bonus.
