Assistant Chef

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Chef to join our kitchen team at St Martin’s Care Home in Camborne. Working alongside the Chef Manager, you will help prepare nutritious, restaurant‑quality meals for residents while enjoying a balanced work schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef Manager in preparing varied, high‑quality menus.
• Maintain food hygiene and safety standards at all times.
• Carry out risk assessments and keep the kitchen clean and safe.
• Engage daily with residents, visitors and colleagues in a friendly manner.
• Support a positive dining experience for everyone.

Required profile

• Experience in a catering or hospitality environment.
• Valid food hygiene certificate.
• Friendly, approachable and passionate about good food.
• Team‑player with a commitment to high standards of safety and care.

Required skills

• Food preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.

What we offer

• £13.96 – £14 per hour, 40 hours per week, no late nights or split shifts.
