Assistant Client Accountant

About the role

This position supports a portfolio of clients by delivering high‑quality accounting and tax services. You will work in a hybrid model, balancing office collaboration with remote flexibility, and will be a key point of contact for client financial matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied client portfolio and nurture long‑term relationships.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, VAT returns and management accounts.
• Complete both business and personal tax returns.
• Provide clear, practical financial advice to clients.
• Ensure work is accurate and delivered within agreed deadlines.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to new business development and client growth initiatives.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Minimum five years of practice experience.
• Proven experience managing a varied client portfolio.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Commercial awareness with a client‑focused approach.
• Proactive, organised and able to work independently and as part of a team.
