Assistant Commercial Manager – Civil Engineering

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Commercial Manager to join a global civil engineering consultancy delivering the Sizewell C nuclear programme. The role is full‑time permanent, based on site for 2‑3 days a week with the remainder remote, offering exposure to a landmark infrastructure project.

Key responsibilities

• Support contract management – draft correspondence, issue payment notices, evaluate changes and help avoid disputes.
• Assist cost management – maintain CBS/WBS, produce forecasts, accruals, earned‑value inputs and assess contractor claims.
• Provide estimating and cost‑planning support – measurement, value engineering and benchmarking.
• Contribute to planning, reporting and governance – KPI reporting and commercial performance metrics.
• Support procurement and tendering from strategy through to contract award.
• Help manage commercial risk – identify, quantify and mitigate risks.

Required profile

• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Membership of a relevant professional body.
• Proven experience using NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts in civil engineering.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
• Full UK driving licence.
