Assistant Cost Manager (Graduate)

About the role

Join RLB’s Future Professionals programme as a Graduate Cost Manager in Cardiff. You will work on a variety of cost‑management projects, receive mentorship from chartered professionals and gain the training needed to progress towards RICS chartership.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing cost estimates, budgets and cost plans.
• Assisting with feasibility studies and benchmarking.
• Supporting preparation of tender and contract documents.
• Conducting cost analysis and value‑engineering exercises.
• Monitoring and reporting on project costs throughout the lifecycle.
• Assisting with assessment and valuation of variations and change control.
• Supporting preparation of final accounts.
• Engaging with clients, contractors and design teams under senior guidance.

Required profile

• RICS‑accredited degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Effective workload, priority and deadline management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn within a consultancy environment.
