Assistant Designer

About the role

Boden is seeking an ambitious Assistant Designer to join its Softs team in North Acton. This role offers the chance to work closely with the Senior Designer and collaborate across Design, Buying and Merchandising, contributing to customer‑focused fashion collections.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Senior Designer with design tasks, taking ownership of projects where possible.
• Create embroidery and artwork packs and manage PLM processes, including uploading tech packs, colours and setting up BOMs.
• Oversee trims, strike‑offs, artworks and lab dips, and approve samples.
• Assist with colour palette creation, colour ordering and colour management.
• Maintain seasonal Miro boards, garment range boards and other creative spaces.
• Handle email and supplier correspondence, sample coordination and CP processes.
• Train new team members on PLM when required.

Required profile

• Positive, resilient attitude with a flexible mindset.
• Strong understanding of the Boden core customer and brand values.
• Keen interest in colour, print and pattern design.
• Basic knowledge of competitor and aspirational brands.

Required skills

• Excellent CAD skills, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience with PLM systems (preferred).
