Assistant Director – Asset Investment & Sustainability

About the role

Sutton Housing Partnership is seeking an experienced senior leader to direct its Asset Investment and Sustainability programme. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on delivery of major capital works, ensuring value for residents and the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end capital investment programme, from data‑driven planning to procurement, contractor management and delivery.
• Develop and deliver major works programmes exceeding £20 million, aligning them with strategic priorities.
• Oversee procurement activities to ensure compliance, value for money and strong commercial outcomes.
• Manage contractor and supply‑chain performance, meeting quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Ensure full compliance with asset management, building safety and regulatory requirements.
• Own budget planning, financial control and long‑term investment forecasting.
• Drive resident engagement across major works to deliver a consistent customer experience.
• Lead service‑improvement and change initiatives to raise performance and delivery standards.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in asset investment, major works or construction within a housing or public‑sector context.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to translate plans into operational results.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior partners and external suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and complex financial forecasts.
• Commitment to sustainability and delivering value for residents.
