Assistant Ecologist

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Ecologist to join our Cambridge office and support a range of development and infrastructure projects. Working alongside senior consultants, you will gain hands‑on experience in ecological surveying, data collection and report production.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with protected species and habitat surveys on site.
• Contribute to Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and other statutory assessments.
• Collect and process field data for biodiversity reports.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients.
• Support the delivery of ecological components of multi‑disciplinary projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Practical experience of ecological surveys through work, placements or volunteering.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
• Strong written communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Good knowledge of UK habitats and protected species.
• Willingness to commute to Cambridge and travel to field sites.
