Assistant Engineering Geologist – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Engineering Geologist to join a well‑established ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy in Leeds. The role offers a blend of field and office work, giving you exposure to all stages of residential, commercial, infrastructure and industrial projects across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise ground investigation activities, including drilling rigs and trial pits.
• Log soil and rock samples to current industry standards.
• Collect soil, rock and groundwater specimens.
• Carry out in‑situ testing and install monitoring equipment.
• Prepare factual reports and support interpretative documentation.
• Liaise with contractors and clients on‑site.
• Assist in delivering geotechnical and geo‑environmental project components.

Required profile

• MEng in Engineering Geology or a closely related discipline.
• Previous site investigation experience (employment or placement) is desirable.
• Strong written communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to regional sites.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to develop within engineering geology.
