Assistant Farm Manager – Poultry Operations

About the role

The Assistant Farm Manager supports the Farm Manager in running a broiler poultry farm near Manchester. You will help maintain optimal bird health, growth performance and production efficiency while ensuring strict bio‑security and welfare standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in day‑to‑day farm operations, monitoring feeding, watering, ventilation, lighting and environmental conditions.
• Observe flock health, report any abnormalities and follow vaccination and medication programmes.
• Enforce bio‑security protocols, supervise cleaning, disinfection and pest‑control measures.
• Supervise farm staff, assign tasks, train new employees and promote teamwork.
• Track feed consumption, water intake, weight gain, feed conversion ratio and mortality; prepare daily and performance reports.
• Monitor feed inventory, order supplies and ensure equipment maintenance.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, livestock regulations and health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Poultry Passport certification completed or in progress.
• Proven experience in broiler production or poultry farm management.
• Strong understanding of broiler nutrition, health and welfare.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Physically capable of working in a farm environment.
