Assistant Financial Controller – Fintech, London

About the role

Our client, a large listed Fintech firm in the City of London, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join their lean UK Finance team. Reporting to the UK Financial Controller, you will help maintain a robust control environment and support accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of financial controls and compliance procedures.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
• Analyse variances and provide insights to improve financial performance.
• Assist with audit coordination and respond to internal and external audit queries.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least two years of post‑qualification experience.
• Experience gained within a top‑six accounting firm is preferred.
• Background in financial services or fintech reporting is essential.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
