Assistant Group Accountant

About the role

Ambition Europe Limited is seeking a motivated Assistant Group Accountant to join its Group Finance and FP&A team. This role offers a great opportunity for a part‑qualified accounting professional to develop within a complex international finance environment, supporting reporting, budgeting and process improvement across multiple global offices.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Group Finance Manager in ensuring consistent application of accounting policies across international offices.
• Review and analyse monthly management accounts, profit and loss statements, balance sheets and reconciliations from each office.
• Assist with monthly bank reconciliation reviews and general ledger posting.
• Prepare month‑end management accounting reports for designated offices.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process, including overhead review and recharge allocations.
• Work with internal audit teams to strengthen financial controls and assist external auditors with information requests.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls and policies.
• Produce ad‑hoc financial reports and analysis as required.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified accountant (e.g., pursuing ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with plans to complete studies soon.
• Degree, AAT, A‑Level qualifications or equivalent.
• Approximately two years of finance experience in professional services, legal services or audit.
• Strong understanding of general ledger management and financial controls.

• Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
• Experience with finance systems and reporting tools.
