About the role
The school is seeking an ambitious Assistant Headteacher to lead attendance, behaviour, inclusion and act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. You will join a senior leadership team committed to high expectations and inclusive practice.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the school’s attendance strategy, analyse trends and drive targeted interventions.
- Lead a positive behaviour culture, support staff with consistent systems and coordinate additional support for pupils.
- Champion inclusive practice, ensuring equitable access for all learners and supporting vulnerable students.
- Collaborate with families, external agencies and staff to reduce persistent absence and address safeguarding concerns.
- Monitor compliance with statutory attendance and safeguarding requirements, producing regular reports.
Required profile
- Values‑led leader with a passion for inclusive education.
- Proven experience in senior school leadership or equivalent.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret attendance and behaviour data.
- Excellent communication skills for working with parents, staff and external partners.
- Knowledge of statutory attendance and safeguarding frameworks.
