Assistant Librarian – Engagement

About the role

This position joins the Law Society library team to lead engagement initiatives, promote library services and deliver learning sessions for our 200,000 members. You will manage the legal enquiry service and respond to research requests covering cases, legislation, precedents and more.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engagement activities and promote library resources to members.
• Design and deliver learning sessions and professional development workshops.
• Provide accurate and timely legal research support using both hard‑copy and online databases.
• Handle a variety of enquiry requests, including case law, statutes and precedents.
• Collaborate with colleagues and members to ensure high‑quality service.
• Take ownership of projects, adapt to new challenges and propose creative solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in legal information enquiry and research.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to lead projects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
