Assistant Management Accountant – Finance Role

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Assistant Management Accountant to support financial reporting, budgeting and cost analysis for an industrial and manufacturing client in Billingshurst. This permanent position offers the chance to work within a small, supportive finance team and deliver accurate, timely financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Conduct variance analysis against budgets.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights.
• Maintain accurate records and assist with audit preparations.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting.
• AAT / ACCA / CIMA part‑qualified or progressing towards qualification.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Relevant qualification or progression towards a recognised accounting certification.
• Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector (advantageous).
