Assistant Management Accountant – Hybrid

About the role

The Assistant Management Accountant will support the Management Accountant with the preparation of management accounts, month‑end processes, variance analysis and everyday transactional finance. This hybrid role combines office‑based work in Reigate with flexible remote days.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial analysis, statements and reports.
• Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Maintain an accurate supplier database with financial details.
• Process and review purchase invoices, ensuring correct coding, cost allocation and purchase order matching.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register.
• Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals and pre‑payments.
• Support payroll preparation.
• Prepare VAT returns.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an assistant accountant or management accountant role.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Sage accounting software.

What we offer

• Salary up to £45,000 per year.
• Hybrid working – 2 days in the Reigate office, the rest remote.
• Flexible working hours within a 37.5‑hour week (8 am‑5:30 pm, Mon‑Fri).
