Assistant Management Accountant

About the role

This position is with a London‑based arts organisation looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Assistant Management Accountant. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will support accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support preparation of monthly management accounts and ensure timely reporting.
• Monitor departmental budgets, investigate variances and provide analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and maintaining project budgets.
• Prepare and post month‑end journals, including accruals, pre‑payments and deferred income.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and aid year‑end audit preparation.
• Calculate and reconcile royalty or revenue‑share payments where applicable.
• Assist with statutory accounts and tax‑related reporting.
• Produce financial analysis to support operational decision‑making.
• Contribute to finance system enhancements and process improvements.
• Act as a key user for finance systems, providing guidance to colleagues.
• Support and mentor junior members of the finance team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a finance or management accounting environment.
• Experience supporting the production of management accounts, journals, reconciliations and month‑end processes.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
