Assistant Manager – Fashion Retail (Chelmsford)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join a growing fashion retailer in Chelmsford. You will work closely with the Store Manager to deliver an exceptional customer experience, drive sales, and support a motivated, high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in daily operations and take ownership of the store in their absence.
• Lead the team on the shop floor, modelling excellent customer service and sales techniques.
• Monitor and achieve key performance indicators, including sales targets and visual standards.
• Coach, develop and motivate staff to improve performance and career progression.
• Maintain store standards, health & safety, and merchandising guidelines.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or Supervisor in a retail environment.
• Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and developing people.
• Commercially minded with a proven track record of meeting KPIs.
• Confident leader who enjoys coaching and motivating a team.
• Organised, hands‑on and positive in a fast‑moving retail setting.
