Assistant Manager - Mixed Tax

About the role

Our client, a leading accountancy firm in Central London, is seeking an Assistant Manager – Mixed Tax to manage a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and high‑net‑worth individuals. The role offers the chance to work closely with partners on a range of personal and corporate tax matters within a supportive, forward‑thinking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as primary point of contact for a mixed‑tax client portfolio, ensuring compliance and proactive tax planning.
• Prepare and review personal tax returns, corporation tax returns, P11Ds and ATED returns.
• Conduct technical research, produce tax advice reports and handle HMRC enquiries.
• Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and propose additional tax solutions to clients.
• Support partners on ad‑hoc advisory projects such as corporate restructuring, profit extraction, IHT planning, property transactions and SEIS/EIS.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• CTA qualification preferred; ATT, ACA or ACCA candidates with strong tax experience will also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience in personal (private client) tax and exposure to corporate tax.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
• Residency within a commutable distance of London.
