Assistant Manager – Retail Store (Leeds)

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in a fast‑moving, high‑volume retail environment in Leeds. You will lead a team, drive operational excellence and develop the skills needed for future store management.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a department and act as Duty Manager when required.
• Support the Store Manager in achieving KPIs such as sales, shrinkage and wage control.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and foster team engagement.
• Oversee stock control, merchandising and compliance standards.
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are consistently followed.
• Analyse store data to identify improvement and growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or similar role in a fast‑paced retail setting.
• Hands‑on leader who thrives on the shop floor and motivates others.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Passionate about customer service and meeting targets.
• Proactive and eager to progress to a Store Manager position.
