Assistant Manager – Retail Store (London)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join a fast‑growing, market‑leading retail store in South East London. You will support the Store Manager in driving turnover, revenue and customer satisfaction while maintaining lean operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day running of a department.
• Act as Duty Manager for the whole store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Assist Store Management in achieving company KPIs, including financial targets such as wages, wastage and shrinkage.
• Ensure the team delivers exceptional customer service and maintains high standards of store presentation, stock control and compliance.
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies and legislation.
• Use management information to make strategic business decisions.

Required profile

• Proven track record in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Enjoy being on the shop floor rather than an office role.
• Strong operational, leadership, planning, organisational, interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Target‑driven, customer‑service oriented and highly motivated.
• Ambitious self‑starter with a can‑do attitude.
