Assistant Manager – Retail Telecom Store

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to lead a busy telecom retail store in Middlesbrough. You will be the front‑line leader who creates a welcoming atmosphere, drives sales of mobile phones, plans and broadband, and supports the store manager in achieving commercial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide expert advice on mobile contracts, handsets, broadband and accessories.
• Manage day‑to‑day store operations, including stock control, deliveries and visual merchandising.
• Coach and motivate the sales team to meet KPIs, product knowledge standards and upselling goals.
• Handle transactions, returns and customer escalations with professionalism.
• Maintain store presentation, compliance and cleanliness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a retail or sales management role, preferably within telecoms.
• Strong customer‑focused attitude with the ability to lead by example.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work a 5‑over‑7 schedule, including weekends.
