Assistant Manager – Retail (Yeovil)

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in a fast‑moving, high‑volume retail store in Yeovil. You will lead a team, drive sales and ensure operational excellence while developing your own management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a department and act as Duty Manager when required.
• Support the Store Manager in meeting KPIs such as sales, shrinkage and wage control.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and foster team engagement.
• Oversee stock control, merchandising and compliance standards.
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are consistently followed.
• Analyse store data to identify improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or similar role in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Hands‑on leader who thrives on the shop floor and motivates staff.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Passion for customer service and achieving targets.
• Proactive attitude with ambition to become a Store Manager.
