Assistant Mechanic – Turf Care Machinery

About the role

Arsenal is looking for an Assistant Mechanic to maintain and enhance the machinery and equipment supporting its Sobha Realty Training Centre. Part of the Stadium Management team, the role keeps grounds operations reliable and efficient, working closely with the Head Mechanic and Head Grounds Person. It suits someone who takes pride in specialist turf care machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service club machinery safely and efficiently, in line with manufacturer specifications
• Keep accurate maintenance records of servicing, repairs and inspections
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and make sure repaired machinery is fit for purpose
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers for servicing, parts and specialist repairs
• Keep the workshop tidy and follow health and safety regulations
• Work with the Head Mechanic on maintenance planning and machinery lifespan
• Help manage tools, stock, fuel and consumables, and assist with training others on machinery use and safety

Required profile

• Level 3 Agricultural Technician training or significant workshop experience, with advanced machinery maintenance skills
• Knowledge of sports turf or amenity landscape equipment
• Understanding of health and safety, manual handling and COSHH
• Problem-solving, communication and a proactive, flexible approach, including occasional weekend callouts
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
• Clean UK driving licence and ability to travel between locations
