Assistant Merchandiser – Fashion Retail

About the role

Join the newly formed ASOS team dedicated to growing the iconic Topshop and Topman brands. As an Assistant Merchandiser you will support the Merchandising department in delivering the right products at the right time, helping to maximise sales and profit for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations of the Merchandising department.
• Forecast sales and stock levels to meet sales plans and margin targets.
• Monitor department performance, identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate closely with Buying teams to develop effective range plans.
• Participate in trade meetings with senior leadership.
• Evaluate department processes, focusing on lead times and overall performance.
• Develop and manage a merchandising assistant (MA) programme to foster growth.
• Manage the WSSI and support trade planning activities.

Required profile

• Passionate about fashion and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with solid merchandising experience.
• Experience as an Assistant Merchandiser or within a fashion retail merchandising team.
• Deep understanding of the 20‑something Topshop/Topman customer and current trends.
• Excellent organisational skills and clear communication at all levels.
• Proven ability to manage weekly sales, stock and intake, and contribute to trade meetings.
