Assistant Merchandiser

About the role

The client is a fast‑growing UK retailer with over 170 stores and a strong online presence. Based at the new headquarters in Amersham, the Assistant Merchandiser will support a key product category, reporting to a Senior Merchandiser and helping to drive sales profitability across store, online and partnership channels.

Key responsibilities

• Update category WSSI’s to review sales and stock and assist with commercial actions.
• Support in‑season analysis to optimise sales and manage risk, including re‑forecasting.
• Assist in budgeting, option count and depth of buy planning for the category.
• Maintain line detail to meet availability targets and produce analysis on performance, line life and store densities.
• Review trade packs and line prints, highlighting best and worst performers for action.
• Collaborate with the branch merchandising team to optimise A&R parameters.

Required profile

• Previous retail experience within a merchandising team, preferably at Assistant Merchandiser level.
• Experience in retail merchandising or demand‑planning functions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
• High attention to detail, self‑driven and commercially‑astute with an analytical mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (Microsoft Office).
