Assistant Merchandiser - Womenswear (12 Month FTC)

About the role

Selfridges is looking for an Assistant Merchandiser for its womenswear business in London on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will monitor supplier commitment, make strategic recommendations to the team of buyers and escalate issues to the Merchandiser. You will also manage the Allocator and work with Retail Operations so that stock is in the right places at the right time to maximise full-price sell-through.

Key responsibilities

• Review stock levels by store with the Allocator's assistance and make key recommendations
• Oversee the system for re-ordering continuity product and maintain and monitor stock levels at the distribution centre
• Analyse OTB strategies and recommend commitments, escalating OTB issues to the lead Merchandiser
• Build strong relationships with brand partners and negotiate stock actions with suppliers
• Provide weekly, seasonal and ad-hoc reports and analyse stock data
• Identify transfer opportunities, oversee allocation and replenishment from the DC, and assist the Merchandiser with the WSSI
• Provide tailored FP analysis for buyers and support OTB, planning and phasing
• Coordinate the sale setup and execution, act as key contact for retail operations, and manage markdowns and RTV
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of systems such as Retek, Excel, RMS and RPM

Required profile

• Experience at an Assistant Merchandiser level
• Highly organised, methodical and efficient; highly numerate and analytical
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with high attention to detail
• Able to stay calm in a fast-paced, changing environment
