Assistant Planner – Hybrid, Swindon

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Town Planner to join our well‑established planning and design consultancy in Swindon. This hybrid, full‑time position offers the chance to work alongside architects, urban designers and environmental specialists on a variety of residential, commercial, education and mixed‑use projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals.
• Undertake site appraisals and planning research.
• Prepare reports and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Support project coordination within a multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• RTPI‑accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (or working towards it).
• Some relevant experience, such as a placement year or previous role in consultancy or local authority.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
